Vicente Romero Redondo is known internationally for his ability to capture the fine light and atmosphere of the Mediterranean. His astounding works of realism are given their "unrivalled delicacy", as Vicente puts it, with his masterful use of pastels.
Vicente has been named the first Spanish Master Pastellist, and his work has been awarded the honour of permanent display in the Museu Europeu d'Art Moderne in Barcelona. These are the latest in a long line of honours and awards that have puctuated his career.
Vicente's works each show how he can capture both meticulous detail and intangible atmosphere. The viewer is drawn into the scene both by its realism and by the fascination Vicente brings forth from each quiet, even mundane moment within his scenes. Transluscent fabrics caught in sunshine, rippled and hazy heat over bright waters, and the colour-soaked shadows of his artistic hometown in the Costa Brava, are all deftly evoked by Vicente's precise touch in pastels and oils.
Vicente's originals, exhibited across Europe, Asia and America, are highly sought after. Vicente has also approved the production of limited edition prints of his works, to meet the demand from his many fans and collectors.
