Linda Charles was born in 1969 in the Southeast of England. After attending Herriot Watt University in Scotland where she studied textiles and fashion launched a full time career as a professional artist in the late 90's. This background in textile and fashion is evident throughout her work which is heavily textured and makes use of many forms of mixed media including gold and silver leaf.
With a career spanning over 25 years, Linda continues to use her vast experience and enjoys exploring new techniques and mediums to produce striking collections. Following many shows, exhibitions, appearances and an induction into the permanent collection of the Artemizia Foundation in Arizona, Linda continues to push boundaries and search out new niches within contemporary art.
More recently, Linda’s latest hugely popular re-imagined collections of pulp and vinyl combine her love of the imagery of the pulp paperback books of the 40s, 50s and 60s with a back catalogue of famous hits, artists, and lyrics.
With a quarter of a century as one of the UK's leading artists, Linda continues to break new ground, developing her art and creativity and striving to produce work that connects on both cerebral and visual levels.
